Owner Surrender Requests

We understand that making the decision to rehome your dog is never easy. Whether you're facing financial hardship, housing changes, medical concerns, or other unexpected life circumstances, we recognize how difficult this moment can be.

Because KC PAWS is a nonprofit, no-kill rescue, we accept dogs only as space, foster homes, and resources become available. Every dog in our care receives individualized attention, medical care, enrichment, and the time they need to find the right forever home. This means we are often unable to accommodate immediate surrender requests.

Submitting a surrender request does not guarantee intake, but it allows our team to learn more about your dog's needs and determine whether we may be able to help now or in the future. We carefully review each request and will contact you if we believe KC PAWS is an appropriate fit.
